Hard to Read brought together six notable voices from a variety of fields, among them actor Rowan Blanchard, writer Devan Díaz, artist Eric Mack, photographer Quentin Belt, and artist Asya Ulanova. The evening was hosted by model, stylist, and Fashion Director of Interview Magazine, Dara Allen. The reading event was in line with the ethos of the New York Life Gallery's programming, which centers around collaborative curations with artists across all mediums.
Hard to Read was launched in 2016 by author Fiona Alison Duncan to celebrate the literary arts while fostering intentional intersectional and interdisciplinary community. Past participants include actors Chloë Sevigny and Mackenzie Davis; artists Amalia Ulman, Martine Syms, and SoiL Thornton; fashion designers Eckhaus Latta and Vaquera; and authors Rachel Kushner, Brontez Purnell, Gary Indiana, Durga Chew-Bose, and Chris Kraus.
